PPG professional lines, from paint stores, not shelves.
PPG's contractor lines come through PPG stores and dealers, and they hold up well on Front Range exteriors that take hard afternoon sun.

The short answer
Denver Paint Contractors uses PPG coatings on Denver-area projects where the product line fits the surface and its exposure, alongside Sherwin-Williams, PPG and Behr. We name the exact line and sheen on every written estimate and never substitute a cheaper product after signing. One thing worth knowing: PPG paint sold on big-box shelves is not the same as PPG professional lines bought through PPG stores and dealers. If a quote says PPG, ask which line. Call 720-208-5645.
Why we specify it
What PPG does well
Exterior performance
PPG's exterior systems are formulated for adhesion and flexibility, which matters where siding moves 40 degrees in a day.
Lower-temperature application
Some PPG exterior lines are rated for application at temperatures as low as 35°F, which can extend a Colorado painting season at the edges.
Vinyl-safe colors
PPG publishes color collections formulated for vinyl siding, so darker colors do not cook the panels.
Masonry and stucco
Coatings designed to let masonry breathe while still shedding water, which is the right approach on Denver stucco.

Questions, answered
PPG questions
Is PPG good paint?
PPG's professional lines are widely used by contractors and perform well on Colorado exteriors. As with every brand, the specific line matters more than the logo.
What is the difference between PPG at a paint store and PPG at a big-box store?
Product lines differ. Professional PPG lines are sold through PPG stores and dealers. Ask any painter to name the exact line they are quoting.
Can PPG paint be applied in cold weather?
Some PPG exterior lines are rated down to 35°F, but the overnight low and surface temperature matter as much as the daytime air temperature. We follow the label for the product on your house.
Does PPG have colors safe for vinyl siding?
Yes. PPG publishes vinyl-safe color collections so darker colors can be used without the heat absorption that warps vinyl panels.
