Regional conditions
What painting in the mountains and eastern plains actually involves
Head west on I-70 and ultraviolet intensity climbs while the season collapses. Head east and the wind takes over. Both ends of the corridor need planning that a metro project does not.
Altitude west of the tunnel
Summit County sits near 9,600 feet, where thin atmosphere drives ultraviolet far above plains levels and the usable exterior window is roughly mid-June to September.
Canyon wind through Clear Creek
Idaho Springs and Georgetown sit in a corridor that funnels wind continuously, drying coatings faster than intended and carrying grit onto wet film.
Historic mountain towns
Georgetown and Idaho Springs hold housing that predates statehood, with layered coatings, mixed masonry and wood, and preservation standards in places.
Nothing breaks the wind east
Past the airport there is no terrain and no tree cover. Ultraviolet load is close to equal on all four elevations and wind-driven grit is the main application constraint.
Hail on the eastern plains
The eastern corridor sits in an active hail belt, and damage should be documented before any repaint rather than painted over.
Grouped trips at both ends
Mountain and plains projects are scheduled into single trips wherever possible, so travel stays out of your invoice.

The most extreme conditions we work in: brutal ultraviolet, a season measured in weeks, and almost entirely timber surfaces.

Idaho Springs & Clear Creek
Mining-era towns in a canyon, where some of the housing predates Colorado statehood and the wind never stops moving through.

Out past the airport the wind has nothing to slow it down.

Fort Morgan & Morgan County
The far eastern edge of our map, where the housing is older, the properties are larger and the weather is harsher than anywhere in the metro.

Questions about the mountains and eastern plains
How far west do you work?
Through the Clear Creek corridor and into Summit County, including Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne.
How far east do you work?
Along I-70 to roughly Byers and Deer Trail, about 50 miles east of Denver, and out to Fort Morgan and Brush on planned trips.
Is the mountain season really that short?
Yes. At Summit County elevation the usable exterior window is effectively mid-June through September, so those projects are booked well in advance.
Do you paint barns and outbuildings on the plains?
Yes, quoted explicitly. On rural properties they frequently exceed the house in total paintable surface.
Is there a travel charge?
Travel is reflected in the written estimate rather than added afterward, and grouping projects into single trips is how we keep it reasonable.
